Haiku

Something I wrote last night, at 2 am, after having a grim thought of meeting an accident that will render me crippled for the rest of my life.

Underneath cold sheets,
Bleeds my heart longing for you
Every beat calls you.

Death by Brownian Motion

Brownian Motion: <chemistry, physics> Random motion of small objects as a result of intermolecular collisions. First described by the 19th Century microscopist, Brown.

Photoplankton: microscopic, bioluminouscent, free-floating algae that are at the bottom of the oceanic food chain.

I spent the whole morning trying to reformat my blog, and i guess i'm happy with how it turned out. After changing the title of my blog from something that i have grown to think of as too heavy, I sat back on my chair and thought, how appropriate.

You see, every Monday evening, we make it a point here to play badminton, the only thing that really keeps us away from insanity. Other than sleazy girly bars and regular bachelor nights, one of the few things i like about this place is that everyone seems to play badminton so well. That's way before badminton became some sort of yuppie craze in Manila, which really makes the non-conformist in me want to puke. I mean, these Manila yuppies, must have run out of "in" things to do, that they had to turn to playing badminton, and having done so, desecrate the game to eternity. Ugh.

Anyway, we used to describe the way we move inside the court during a doubles match as "Brownian Motion", as against the familiar side-to-side and front-and-back formation. Kind of funny, really.

But then I think it's a comic way of describing how some people go about their daily lives: powerless, and at the mercy of the forces around them. We make plans, but all it takes is one nudge, oops! we're moving in a different direction. There's so much chaos in the world, so many things happening at the same time, so much confusion, so much angst, that it's really hard to imagine that anyone trying to get around from point A, will ever get to point B at all.

No matter how much effort I try to put into changing this world, i can only change a part of it. Yeah, I have put a nice green color to the water, and I even glow when distrubed, but what if that's all there is to it? All glow, no "go". (uy, it rhymes)

Swim.. swim... swim... lalalalala....
